It is beneficial in accident cases to hire an experienced attorney who is familiar with the area where the accident occurred.  Such attorneys are likely to know how to conduct a local investigation, obtain information from the local police and contact witnesses in the area. And if a court case becomes necessary, it is advantageous to have an attorney who is experienced in the local courts.

Scott and Laura Robertson are accident lawyers who know Worcester County.  Please feel free to click on the Metropolitan magazine cover, above, to read the article about the background, experience, and civic involvement of the husband and wife team of accident attorneys – J. Scott Robertson and Laura E. Robertson.

We regularly practice in Worcester County and are accustomed to investigating accidents that occur in Ocean City, Berlin, Ocean Pines, Snow Hill, Pocomoke, and the surrounding areas, whether it is interviewing witnesses or working with local police agencies and the Maryland State Police to obtain information.

In Eastern Shore accidents involving fatalities, serious injuries, drunk drivers, or drugged drivers, we monitor the local courts and often attend the local criminal hearing of the at-fault driver.  This can be a valuable part of the investigation, as statements made in the traffic and criminal courts can be extraordinarily useful, and under certain circumstances a guilty finding can be used to establish civil liability for the personal injury case or insurance claim.

We are very familiar with the most dangerous roads and intersections in Worcester County and the Eastern Shore.  In fact, at the time of the writing of this article, Robertson & Robertson is handling three cases involving accidents that occurred at the U.S. Route 113 and Rt. 12 intersection. (We have publicly supported the efforts of Commissioner Virgil Shockley and others to improve safety of this intersection). We have handled many accidents that occurred on Rt. 113, Route 50, and Route 13 in Worcester County and are very familiar with the usual causes of accidents in those areas. This unique experience gives us the background needed to successfully understand and investigate Worcester County accidents.

In those situations when a court case is necessary, we have the experience and know our way around the Worcester County District and Circuit Courts.  In fact, a large percentage of the approximately 200 car and truck accident cases we have successfully tried in court have been in Worcester County.  Our familiarity with the handling civil cases by the local judges and court personnel, as well as the propensities of local juries, is invaluable.

In fact, we have frequently been contacted by other attorneys who want us to take over an Ocean City or Worcester County personal injury case once a lawsuit has become necessary.  They recognize that our local knowledge is important.  Of course, we think it is better to hire us from the beginning rather than being referred to us after another attorney has failed to successfully reach a fair settlement of your case.

Scott Robertson has frequently been asked by insurance company adjusters and other personal injury lawyers to serve as a neutral case arbitrator for cases he is not involved in.  The fact that these insurance companies and attorneys trust Scott to handle the disposition of the case through alternative dispute resolution is indicative of his experience and respect among other legal and insurance professionals.  They frequently site Scott’s background (in previously defending car accident cases), experience (in handling auto accident cases since 1993), and familiarity with the Eastern Shore legal system as the reasons they selected him to conduct binding arbitration.

Car Accident Attorney J. Scott Robertson has twice been voted Runner-Up as “Best Lawyer on the Eastern Shore” by readers of Metropolitan Magazine.

Attorney Scott Robertson spent the first several years of his career defending negligent drivers on behalf of the insurance companies that insured them.  He represented several insurance companies over the years, but most of his work was for Allstate Insurance Company. In fact, he was personally involved in the majority of cases filed on the Eastern Shore against drivers insured by Allstate. Many of the personal injury cases he defended arose out of accidents that occurred in Worcester County and were tried in the District and Circuit Court in Snow Hill.

Since switching his practice several years ago from defending the insurance companies and the at-fault drivers to representing the injured victims of car and truck accidents, Scott Robertson has had the privilege to represent many Worcester County residents for their car and truck accident claims.  By meticulously preparing each client’s claim, we can usually achieve a good personal injury settlement without the necessity of filing a lawsuit.

In addition to car accidents, we handle accidents involving tractor trailers, pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles and motor scooters.  In those cases, it is even more important to get us involved as soon as possible after the crash so that we can conduct a thorough investigation before memories fade, witnesses disappear, and stories change.

We pride ourselves on accessibility and service to our clients. Our attorneys and staff promptly return phone calls and address client questions.  The most frequent complaint about lawyers is that they do not return phone calls or keep their clients informed.  We are just the opposite.  You will love our communication and prompt response to your phone calls.

Our firm does NOT handle criminal law, real estate, divorce and child custody, business law, or anything other than personal injury law.  We know the ins and outs of personal injury law, car, truck, motorcycle, motor scooter and pedestrian accidents, and insurance claims.  We stand ready to assist you.

Robertson & Robertson, Accident & Injury Attorneys is respected in the legal profession and in the lower Eastern Shore community.  Accident Attorneys Scott and Laura Robertson are both Eastern Shore natives.  You can count on us for compassionate understanding, great communication, and diligent advocacy.
